Frequently asked questions
How is this different from converting a PDF to JPG?
Converting turns each whole page into an image. Extracting images only gets the photos and illustrations inside the pages, at their original size.
Why are some images missing?
Small images (icons, bullets) are skipped by default: tick "Also keep small images". Text and vector drawings are not images, so they are not extracted.
Is pdffusion really free?
Yes. Every tool is free, with no watermark and nothing locked behind a subscription. No credit card is ever requested.
Do I need an account?
No. No sign-up, no email address: you use the tools right away.
Are my documents kept?
No. Your files are only used for the task you asked for, then deleted. Nobody reads them and they are never shared.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. pdffusion runs in the browser of any phone, tablet or computer (Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, Linux), with nothing to install.
Which formats are supported?
PDF, Word (DOCX, DOC), Excel (XLSX, XLS, CSV), PowerPoint (PPTX, PPT), OpenDocument (ODT, ODS, ODP), RTF, images (JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC (iPhone), TIFF, GIF, SVG), EPUB, TXT, HTML and more.
Are there any limits?
You can process up to 500 files at once, and a produced document can have up to 10,000 pages.
